whatever you say man...but cant say **** about the lakota not being sport until you rode one with mods...cuz hell i can hang with 350-400's no problems on the track and in trails i smoke them...but walker drive both before you pick one cuz thats the only real way you will know which one you like best...not reading what people say about both quads cuz theres always someone that like one of the quads better than the other....just my 2 cents...you can say what you want about the lakota but im sure holeshotz and me can smoke alot of warriors in the trails and on the track without any problems...

I think you need to get your facts right before you start flamin son plus a warrior would kill a lakota stock for stock mod for mod. and I dont think that .8 in. of ground clearance is going to make that much of a difference when going though mud

Now lets think here for a sec.
Lakota 290cc
Warrior 348cc
You guys are saying that stock for stock or mod for mod the warrior will win. Well with the same riders it better win every time. But once you get the lakotas ccs up so the race is fare then the lakota will pull away but the top end on the warrior will eventually get it(sixth gear sure is nice).
I was never to happy with my stock lakotas performance(as you can see). Even my 230 would beat it big time in a race. So that goes to show that the smaller engine can win if it is halling less weight. And yes you can get the lakotas weight down to 398 or even less. So with the same ccs as the warrior the lakota will run with it and even pass it.

Both are good bikes, slightly different layout, as others have said, try to ride both. Warriors dependability is rock solid.

AC i did some checking and you are right about the weight, i thought that the warrior weighed more because of some very old posts on the fourms about a warrior vs lakota that a read a long while back and some specs for the lakota state that it weighs only 429 and it seems there are alot of descrepincies about the lakotas weight and weight can be shed from the lakota very easily because their are alot of stuped things that weigh alot that can be removed/replaced like newduck said but this might be the same with the warrior too......both atv's arnt exactly light either compared to many other sport quads so i apoligize for bashing your statement but if both atvs were stroked and bored out the maximum reliable size would be around 400ccs for both posibally 420cc with the warrior so if they were both completely modded and stroked and bored out mostlikely both atvswould be just about even and posibally the warrior would pull away a bit in 6th like newduck said and is the warriors ground clearance measured under the skid like the lakotas? I would still preder the lakota when mudding because of the bigger tires, the decent ammount of bottom end power because its a utility based engine and especially the semi auto tranny becasue it wont stall and the manuel tranny can cause quite a bit of problems when it stalls on a real steap hill so especially for someone whoes not great with a clutch the lakota migt be a better choice for that kinda thing. basically each quad has its ups and downs and i dont hate warriros, infact i almost sold my lakota and bought one when i started doing alot of track riding and racing thru flat trails because i like the 6 speed and cluth but i decided to keep the lakota and mod it because i like to see the reaction on peoples faces when i beat them because most people underestiamte it because of its smaller size. but as far as mojavemadman you still have said nothing tyo back yourself up and your postes still make no sense and assuming you have a stock mojave i highly doubt you can beat my lakota and im shure other not as cocky mojave owners will agree. Anyways.....walker did you make a choice yet?

PEr the Warrior of Lakota. The warrior is lighter and has a longer wheelbas than the Lakota. It also has a manual clutch as opposed to the Lakota's auto. I have a Lakota and like it alot. This is tough comming from a kwackernut, but if I didn't have my Mojave to get crazy on and have only the Lakota I'd be yearning for something to rip on. Depending on your ability, height weight and all, between the 2; stock for stock, the Warrior wins..........
