RECALL:STEERING KNUCKLE PRAIRIES, BRUTES
Got my letter today. This will be my second set of knuckles. The first ones were replaced under warranty for the wheel bearing clicking. Then I had to replace a CV joint (did it myself) and I did notice the slightest amount of play when I put the ball joint back in on the left side. Guess I will sideline my wheeler until I can get it fixed. I hate the thought of not being able to ride it, but I hate the thought of a wheel falling off more.

Got put on the waiting list at the closest dealer. Has anybody got a firm delivery yet on the parts? My dealer didn't seem to have a clue. Does anyone know if they will have to replace brgs/seals to complete the change. Are the new knuckles aluminum also?

Last time they did my knuckles, I was told they couldnt do them without replacing wheel bearings. Using the old ones would be kind of silly anyway. I bet the new ones are alluminum with either a beef-up or an insert made of something a bit stronger. Dealer told me they should be getting them in the second week of August, not really too specific.

I saw one of the "kits".It had 2 new lower control arms, two new ball joints and two new knuckles with bearings in them. The bearings are pressed in so trying to drive out the old ones and re-use them really is not an option. The one thing I don't know is when they will get the parts.I am going to ride mine because there is no play in mine.
