650 Prairie running 50% AFTER CREEK RIDE
Hello
I recently bought a 2002 Prairie. On our first ride, my buddy and I decided to do a little creek ride for fun. The water wasn't real deep, but on one occation we hit a deeper spot and the bike nearly quit. The water never went above the seat, and the fuse/ electronics did not get wet. When I emerged from the water, the bike would Idle smooth, but when I accelerated it hesatated, ran rough, had no power, and backfired durring deceleration. I rode the bike some the rest of that day, but it stayed the same. A week later I started it and nothing had changed. I dont want to take it to the dealer, but I dont know what to check first, could anybody give me some advice?

I think we have all been there. Did you check your breather? Did it have water in it?
Drain the breather and clean the filter. Then find the drain screws on the bowl of the carbs. Loosen the screw until gas comes out of the tubes and drains for a while. Tighten and start the motor, you may need to repeat the process. It sounds to me like you have gas in the carbs.
I woudl check the oil too, make sure you have no water in the oil. I didnt think I did the other day, but I changed it anyway, and sure enough, it was milky.
