Default When is the Belt Light Supposed to come on for the Brute Force 750i?

great site! thanks for info on belt light. im having same trouble. also curious about after market parts for BF. i.e. clutch, airbox, exaust,computer , and engine mods. would apreciate any info.

Go to nyroc.com great site. Go to tech tips and under the prairie section is all you need to know about the belt (same as brute).

On my '05Bf750, my Belt lite came on @ 116 hours, off in 3 minutes w/the use of the gray plug.

My belt light just came on at 123 hours and around 1866km. I know it says on the decal that it should be inspected by 1700 km, but it seems it came on at a random time? It's just solid, not flashing and I can still ride in High and 4WD.
I'm going to get it replaced/inspected as soon as I can borrow my uncle's truck.
Do you think it would be safe to go for a little 10KM spin, or did the warning come on due to a detection of worn belt?

BTW, I have only made one adjustment to my belt on my BF and I have over 1800 miles on it. Clutch system on the BF is great and the power of the BF helps on the clutch life. I doubt that you need to worry about adjustment yet.

My 06 don't have both plugs all mine has is a 4 wire plug then a 2 wire that goes to a little black box so how do I reset my belt light it 06 Kawasaki brute force 750

Need to clear up some confusions here!

1. There are two clocks on Brute and Prairie (360, 650, 700 & 750) - one that you see on the dash meter and one that you can't see inside the ECU. Meter clock counts ign on time. ECU clock counts only the actual engine run time. Belt maintenance reminder time looks at the ECU clock. Anc ECU clock hour is always higher than meter clock.

2. Belt Maintenance Reminder Light - This is the solid on light and does NOT affect the vehicle running or 4WD. It's just a reminder that comes on every 100 hour per ECU clock.

3. Belt Failure Light - This is when the light is flashing. There will be 2 abnormal things you will notice. Vehicle speed is limited to 5 mph only. Can't use 4X4 mode. Two conditions can cause the belt light to flash as following:

3.A. - Belt switch inside CVT cover is tripped, meaning loose or broken belt hit the switch. Belt needs to be tightened up (by shim adj) or replaced. Then do the reset procedure to rese the light.

3.B. - Belt swtich inside CVT cover is NOT tripped. Then just do the reset procedure only. This is an electronice falst signal that somehow made the ECU to sense a belt failure that didn't happen.
