I eat 350 Banshees and 660 Raptors for lunch.
Why do you think Yamaha is coming out with the 700 raptor?

I have a Brute Force 750 with 26" Gators and a Dynatek Ignition System (everything else is stock) and a friend that used to have a Z-400. He had to go through 3 levels of modifications before he could routinely beat me in a 400' drag race (a flat grassy field). He was piped (FMF slip-on), jetted, Dynatek ignition and I believe he did a cam change as well. On the Brute Force I probably lose a little bit of punch with the 26" tires (it doesn't wheelie as easily as it did with the stock 25" tires). However I always run in 4WD which gives me the advantage off the line every time, but he catches me and passes me before the 400' mark. He generally won by a quad length or less. I also tried running him after swapping out the Dynatek for the stock ignition system and he'd beat me by 2 quad lengths or more so the Dynatek does make a difference on my machine.
Anyway my Brute will crush my Grizzly (which is completely stock except for 26" Dirt Devil tires). The Brute takes it off the line and pulls away smartly, which is expected since they weigh about the same but the Brute has about a 100cc engine size advantage.
Now I also have a Banshee which is completely stock. By the time my friend was finished modifying his Z he could beat my Banshee most of the time too in that 400' run, but not all of the time. It all came down to the launch. I found that I could start better with 2nd gear launches (he did better starting in 1st). He would take me most of the time but once in a while I'd finish a wheel or so ahead of him. In all cases I was gaining on him in the end and I think if we had a little more room I would have taken him every time.
My Banshee and Brute have never lined up together but I think it would be pretty close (in 400') with the Banshee having a slight edge if it had a good launch. With a little more room though I'd give the advantage to the Banshee every time...

I think if the sport quads would hook up they'd beat ya,but still I'm not trash talking your quad. The new utility quads are very impressive.A friend of mine has a Brute Force.I didn't think such a heavy quad would wheelie that easy.I was impressed.Even my dad's 660 grizzly runs good.I really like it.I'll stay with my banshee, but I'm still a fan of the utility big-bores.
