230lb Rider. What size quad??
#1
I weigh 230 and 6 foot tall. I'm going back and forth between the KFX400 and the KFX700. We have a cat 2 seater and I want to get a sport quad to ride trails, a little duning and a very little jumping. I don't want to have to replace it in a year with a bigger faster quad as ability increases. Any opinions would be appreciated. Manual or auto tranny doesn't matter to me.
Thanks

Welcome Nevadacat...
Your the prime candidate for a 700. I'm a big guy too at 6*2- 215lbs and can't see myself riding on any of the smaller quads. It's a great trail quad, capable duner, and just a load of fun. Watch out though, once you start modding a V, you'll get addicted and the spending never stops!

I'm 6'3 and 220#. I just bought a KFX400 this weekend. I feel like it fits me well.
I sat on on a many quads at the dealer. Raptor 350 and Honda TRX400EX both felt small for me. Honda's web site is wrong. It lists the seat height as the same as the KFX400, when in reality, there's about a 2" difference.
I actually didn't even feel as good on the Raptor 700 as I do on the KFX4.
It's all about ergnomics and your own personal preference.
Go sit on them. It's the only way you'll know what's good for you. I think you'll be fine on a KFX4.
You won't need to replace the 400 with faster quad in a year.

650, 700, 750 Kawi. I own the 650 prairie and it has plenty of power. I'm 6'4" and 250-260 (depending on dinner). Just right for twisty trails & body english. Also great for toteing/retreiving your deer out of the woods.

You should take a look at a polaris predator or outlaw they are very fast, and one of the best motors on a sport quad but if you dont like that i would go with the KFX 400 not the 700 becuase with the at trans you dont get the power delivery and response
