i just bought an 89 kx 500 for 900 bucks . its in really good condition and just had a new topend job. piston reeds chain plastics. any whoo! any one seen a kx500 motor in a quad ? how did it do?i rode it yesterday and it scared the livin crap outta me.im not much of a dirtbike guy, but i love my raptor, and want a bike for the dunes.so any one seen one and what did you think if you did?

ive never seen a kx motor in a quad but ive seen a vid of a ktm motor and a 900cc two stroke snowmobile motor. it was crazy fast, yours will be to no matter what you do.

 

There was some fellow asking about shoe- horning a KX 500 motor into a Tecate frame. Everyone recommended against it because the Tecate engine was counterbalanced and the gains would not justify all the butchering to the frame necesarry. Yes it is possible, but really unlsess ya have a full blown machine shop at yer disposal more than likely you;ll be disappointed with the results........

 

any body know where i can get the stock specs on this bike at.like hp. i want to know.
