Default Rear Diff leaking Fliud Even after seal replaced?

I have a problem with my rear diff leaking fluid Bayou 300 4x4. I replaced the seal and put everthing back together and it still leaks has anyone had this problum or any ideas. The seal went in good so I don't think the seal is bad.
Thanks, Euc

I have a Bayou 300 4x4 and I also have a leak. I am not quite sure where it is coming from. The fluid is always puddled up under the intersection of the left foot peg and the frame. Anyone have any idea what is leaking?

Thanks,
WVHILLBILLY

Check your vent hose... if it is plugged, even properly installed & perfect seals will leak...

I don't mean to sound dumb but where is the vent hose?

Thanks,

there should be a rubber hose that routes up higher on the quad, that comes from somewhere on the part of your rear axle that had the gear lube in ... if it is kinked or plugged on the end, the diffy can build up pressure as it gets warm, & will force the lube out past the seals...

I know this sounds crazy, but when we bought my sons Bayou 220 this summer, it was "pushing" 80/90 out of the vent hose just as soon as you start the engine. (It exists just behind the left foot peg.) I disconnected the vent hose and just put a new tube from the vent outlet and then through the hitch hole to keep it from dripping all over the swingarm/engine, etc. The thing has a TON of blowby and the ONLY place that can cause this is blowby going past the rear output seal, past the drivshaft bearing in the swing arm and then past the pinion seal. I would have bet a bunch of money that this was impossible, but obviously it isn't. We're going to overhaul the engine this winter and when we do, I'm going to pull the swing arm/driveshaft, etc. and replace the seals.

Does your engine have a bunch of blowby? Might be the problem.
