PADDLES on a PRAIRE
Last time I went to utah I used the stock tires up front. They worked fine in four wheel drive, but dragged a little when playing in two wheel drive from the luggs digging into the soft sand. Recently I got a paddle tire set for a vforce and are going to try out the smoothed ribbed ones up front to see if they help with the drag.

ITP now also as the Sandstar tires in 12" rim size. The only problem is that they are so new I could only find them at one place. Golden West Cycle 1-800-383-6776. The main reason I went with the v-force rims is for selection and for the price I paid I got the tires basicly free that came with them. The only thing I have to modify is the bolt pattern on the front. The spindle hole is the same size.

what was the 12" sanstar sizes, hight is what I am looking for? I need a set of 26" paddles that fit 12" rims for my new outlander. My 9" paddles on my Twin Peaks do not work since the offset is all wrong. I have to use 3/4 offsets on the rear of the Outlander (prairie front rims) to make it work.

The Sandstars I believe are 22" front and back. The only taller tire that I am aware of that fits a 12" rim is the Paddle master at 25". Nota bad tire but heavy and not best in sand. I know they make other taller sand tire, not sure on the rim size. The best thing to do wuold to go to the dunners page on this forum and ask the sand rail guys what you can get for taller size. IMO, even with the v-twin, my p650 did alot better with 22" paddles then the 25" Masters. The wheel speed is much better, thus easier to keep the rpms up and easier on the belt. the 22" tires really don't look all that bad on a big machine IMO.

Scat Trak currently makes a 26" X 12" X 12" paddle tire... that is the total ultimate for the dunes, for the utility quads... I have 10 of the Paddlemasters, & wouldn't recommend them for sand... if you are doing sand, you definately want a buffed & vulcanized paddle, rather than a molded one...
the AMS tires in the bigger sizes are new... I looked for some listings, but couldn't find anything updated, but remember speaking to another "tire guy" several weeks back, on another forum, & he is the one that confirmed they're availability...

I spoke with Skattrack today about the 26-12-12's and the main problem I will have with those is they recomended a 10" wide rim. So far I have not found a Rim in the 4/137 pattern much less a 6/4 offset. I did find a 3/5 offset from douglass in a red lable. I was thinking I could turn them around ( maybe ???) and make them work on either machine 800 twin peaks or outlander 800 but those are still only 8" wide rims and not the recomended 10" wide rims. I know I could use type 6 and a 4/3 offset that I am needing but then I am down to a 7" wide rim and a 12" wide tire???. They said I could find a tire I like and send it in and they would shave it down and put paddles on it. They said they had done several 26-10-12 mudlites that way for Rhino's ????. I know a guy that did it for his rhino but it was very expensive. Right now I am thinking the Douglass rims and the Scattracks stock 26-12-12's and hope the rims will clear on the Outy 800 if I turn them in backwards. I am glad you guy's said something about the GBC's I was almost ready to go that way (save a few bucks) and all I want them for is sand, so I appreciate the info on the poor sand performance.
