Not Trying To Cause Problems, But About Pulling???

Well, I saw on ATV TV the other day about the bomb800, polaris800 and kawie750bf comparisons. This is what the results were. All quads were stock.
Fastest to 200ft drag: 1st bomb800, 2nd 750bf, 3rd polaris800
Sled Pull: 1st bomb800, 2nd 750bf, 3rd polaris800
My question: Polaris riders have always claimed their atv will out pull others, but clearly on this video that was not the case. So, does polaris rate their quads too high or what? Remember, this is in no means trying to start an argument. Trying to educate myself on this issue after seeing this video.

Polaris built strong? Hmmm lets see my friend just bought a 05 700 sportsman efi about 2 months ago. What has happend since? Get this. The foot brake cylinder= The bolts backed out and it hung there. Bottom radiator hose clamp was not put on and the hose came off while we were riding at night witch it over heated and get this, Warped the plastic valve cover.. The dealer said it didnt hurt anything else. Bet me. He has 2 polaris's and to me those things are not what they add up to be. He said anymore things with the 700 and its gettin traded for a 750 brute. And yeah I beat it with my 650 prairie.

there is lots to take into consideration when it comes to setting up these tests, the results can be easily skewed to any direction the tester desires, on purpose or accidentaly... IMO, yes the Bombs are fast... probably very close to the Brutes in acelleration & likely more top speed, but the Brutes are generally quicker... so the race distance & surface will give you varying results... 200 ft is not a long distance... if the surface were hard pacxked, I'd expect the Brute to win, if the surface was loose, then it'd be closer, because of the tire differences I listed below
... I have seen more than a dozen 800 Bombs pull, typically in as many classes as they are allowed... so far at the pulls I've been to, the best showing I've seen out of the 800 Bomb, is one 2nd place finish, out of 30 or more attempts, even seen stock 650 Prairies out pull them regularly... however, pulling has even more variables than drag racing... hitch height, suspension firmness, quad weight & tires are critical ( IMO, the Bomb comes with the best O.E. tire for pulling, with the Polaris's close behind, & the Brutes way behind that, when it comes to tread design for pulling )... the Hitch Hieght is critical, the higher, the more it removes weight from the drag pan... if the suspension is set up soft, on an IRS quad, once the weight begins to transfer, the hitch hieght drops dramatically... also, to be totally fair in a pulling contest, the quads must all weigh the same... & even here, it is difficult to match them fairly, as if the Brute was much lighter than the Polaris, or Bomb, the weight placement is also critical, & here, you may have 100 - 150 lbs of added weight, that can be placed to the brutes advantage, or disadvange, how ever the testers see fit... my expirience with the Polaris's & pulling, is they typically don't do well in a pull where the lighter quads are allower to scale up to match weights... this is likely because of their superior ride... but if solid struts are added in the rear, they pull well... & they do dominate to poorly run pulls, that don't match quad weights, because of the heavy machine...
it boils down to... any test results can be skewed either on purpose or because of ignorance... let the viewer beware...

700's post said 200ft... if the drag were really 200 yards, thats 600 ft, which is roughly twice the "normal" dirt drag race distance, & that would definately favor the faster top speed machines, not the quicker machine...

Sorry guys, I ment 200yards, not 200 feet. And, as far as the sled pull, I am not sure of the actual weights, although they were the same for each quad.

Ditto on newbeattles post.
So many variables, so many ways to skew results and design test to fit the strength of one quad while magnifying the weakness in a competitor.

Oh the joys of marketing.
If bomb pays for the commercial....guess who will win. If polaris pays for a commerical..guess who wins.
You can go the the polaris website and see their spin on things.
This is so easily manipulated, that unless a 3rd party, who doesnt have an agenda, does the testing, the results are meaningless.
