Default kfx 700 not wanting to idle

heres my story, friday night (november 11) me and my buddies load our four wheelers on the trailer and were gonna go riding the next day at Wayne National Forest. Well friday night i get my kfx 700 all ready and its running like top, no problems at all. The next day we get to the park and my 700 doesnt want to idle, so i still rode the whole day. I dont know what the deal is cuz it doenst want to idle, black smoke is coming out of the exhaust like theres a bunch of carbon in it, it wanted to pop and backfire sometimes. It seems to run just fine when its wide open. So if anyone has any words of wisdom, im all ears.

Sounds like it's rich to me, it's getting too much fuel in it and flooding it out.

Choke isn't loose or on a just little bit? It's happened to me before.

I never thought of that. That could very well be the reason.

Check to the choke cable to make sure it isn't hung up anywhere. Also, on the choke lever on the handlebars, make sure it is disingaged the entire way.

If it isnt, push on the choke cable and push the choke botton in.

that sounds like the most logical thing right now, because how can it work just fine the night before, then haul it down the road for four hours and the whole day it runs rich....so ill look to see if it's the choke

My 360 has a similar problem sometimes. It improved significantly when I cleaned the air filter and changed the plug

I had the same problem with my 700. Ask your dealer to check the valves for adjustment. My dealer told me mine were so tight, that if I had kept driving it, the valves would have beat the head off it. Now, it has power like it never had before.
