Default Dead 650 Praire

I started my 03 650 Praire and let it run for a few minutes before revving it up slightly, very slightly, it proceeded to cut out immediately, no bogging down, nothing. I tried restarting it but I can't get the starter to turn it over. Even with the pull rope I can barely get it to turn over. Pulling it over slowly I can't feel the compression stroke or anything, just constant resistance. Any help as to what it may be would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Few things come to mind. Got Oil in it? Got Oil/Gas mixture in your crankcase?

Pop your CV tranny cover and ensure your belt is not broke/wedged in clutch/tranny.

Remove BOTH spark plugs and push the start button. If your battery is dead or too weak, try the pull start. Make sure no one smoking around your bike. It's also a good idea to wear a goggle when doing this. After that, reinstall the plugs and see if the engine starts. And change your engine oil and filter if that fixes the problem.

There is oil in it and it isn't runny or have a gassy smell like there would be if any gas was in it. I popped off the cvt cover and the belt is on right. I pulled both plugs out and they were both fouled. I turned the motor over without the plugs in but it still seemed to turn hard. I cleaned off the plugs and checked to make sure they would spark, then reinstalled them but the machine still wouldn't start.

sounds bad. How old is your oil filter and what shape is it in?

Flippers: What I am about to suggest may sound stupid, just making suggestions
1. Open both carburetor bowl drains into a clean white cup/container. Check color, smell and any possible deposits (sand/grit).
2. Close the carb bowl drains.
3. Check to make sure the fuel tank valve is open and the bike is full of fuel.
4. Take the air box cover off and air filter out.
5. Make sure nothing is in the exhaust pipe, use coat hanger to probe to the engine.
6. Disconnect the battery and connect the battery leads from the bike directly to your car.
7. Try and start the bike.
8. If the bike does not start, replace spark plugs with new plugs and try to start again.
9. Check wires going to CDI and rectifier for possible breaks/groundings.
10. Report back your findings/results.
