Default Rear Brake Cable freezing up...P360

when I applied my brake cable the other day from the handle bars, it froze up...now I don't know how to properly adjust. Worry about stripping out or breaking...
any ideas...
It loosed up, but its tight. Been only using the foot lever.

Get a cable lube kit.. they are like 12-15 bucks with the little tool.. You disconnect the cable from the lever, then attach the tool and spray in the lube until you see it dripping out the other end..

That will lube the cable and push out all the water, which is freezing and making your brakes not work..

WD40 will work also.. Its very easy to do, and normally if you just do it late Fall, your good for the winter..

Also, if you have the rear dif oil.. change that out too, make sure no water getting in there to freeze..

What I did on my Vforce, was remove the reverse switch safety, which prevented you from getting into reverse unless you applied the brakes.. ice can build up around your foot brake and prevent you from using that.. So having the hand brake, and still being able to get into reverse is nice..

Another trick some guys use is.. carry a hose, thats about the same diameter at your exhaust.. You can slip it over the exhaust, and use it as a heat gun to melt ice that builds on your bike..

Pkspawn,

How do you go about removing the reverse switch safety, I guess i don't even know where it's located; i'd have to look in the manual. I'm going to try plowing with my KFX700, so not having to have the brake on while shifting in reverse will help speed up things probably.

Thanks for any help with this.

Right above the foot brake lever.. You will see the shift cables going to a bracket.. There will be two, (one pulls, other pushes) and they are attached to the engine.. You will see a bolt, that blocks the shifter, and if you press the foot brake you will see it move back out of the way.. Just remove that bolt.. Once you see it, you will know..

Its as we sometimes say, a "No brainer".. LoL..

Now don't be trying to switch gears while your moving.. thats the point of the brake safety .. But I found it helps ALOT when your stuck in the mud trying to get out, when plowing, or when the ice buildup on the nerfs prevent you from using the foot brake..
