Default brand new v-force burning oil?

Well guys i took my kfx700 out for its first major trip this weekend to Plaster City California. A friend and i were riding down this long straght away when we decided to both punch it, (me being at half throttle for break in) we are about neck and neck (him on 05 honda 450r) for about 15 seconds then i feel the bike starting to hesitate and sputter so i let off the gas and coasted to a stop. As i looked back i saw this large cloud of smoke following me. So i turn it off and let iot cool down for about 15minutes and started it back up no smoke no nothing, i took it easy on her until we were on our way back and did the exact same thing again. Ok so this i where it get strange i went back to camp let the bike cool down completely(about an hour and a half) then i went out to a long strecth and punched it again and nothing happend and this time i went for about 3/4 of a mile and nothing happened. Oh and this is all within 5 total hours of riding.

ok so now that i've given the run down on the weekend and what happened i guess i can ask a question.

what the hell is wrong with my baby? is she normal? or should i just take her in for the first service and make sure she is ok?

My number 1 question is did you check the oil before you rode the thing for the first time? Some dealers will over fill and this oil will get blown into the air box. Check the air box and see if there is any oil in it.

My next question is how was it broken in? Some people complain about blow by on the V. I did many WOT runs on my V when I first got it and I have 0 blow by and 0 oil use.

Check the oil on level ground and see what you have.

Definately sounds like over full on oil. I've noticed at our dealership that sometimes customers don't read the owners manual or don't listen to us when we go through all the info about the atv/motorcycle procedures. Some people just rest the dip stick on the oil fill without screwing it in all the way. You are supposed to screw it all the way in and then check it on an atv. Its weird but since Kawi also makes industrial motors that you would screw the dip stick on them too. But on jap industrial motors you have to rest the dip stick on top of the oil fill to check the level properly. Same goes with Honda industrial motors. Just a pet pieve I have, hahaha. Hell, some times we will get a bike in that has over a gallon of oil in it cause they check the oil sight glass with the bike on the side stand, hahaha.

i checked the oil when i got back to camp and it was right under full, so maybe it was a little blow by?

as far as breaking it in i was going to do the ten hours of half throttle but then i read that tips on how to break em in and started doing that w.o.t for a good 20-25 seconds and then backing off and letting her cool down...

thanks for the replys guys i think ill change the oil in her soon and see if it does it again...thank god i got the extended warranty.

might be too late to add this tidbit but.... if you are a wheelie kinda guy, you will get the same thing way faster and more often also...just has to do with the oil levels...

You never said what color smoke. I'm guessing that with oil in the air box that it was blue. Do you have gas in your oil? I've heard of some Kawi motors that if the fuel is not shut off, it leaks into the oil. Just a thought.

The smoke was white. i have yet to change the oil but it looked fine on the dip stick. when i popped the air filter off i there was oil all over the filter and in the airbox itself so im sure it was blow by.

Normally, oil burning is a bluish color. White is usually associated with coolant. Hope it isn't some problem with a head gasket. Check your coolant level to make sure. It could also be excess oil in your exhaust and when you run wot, it gets hot enough to burn the extra in the exhaust. Just check your coolant to make sure.
