Default 4x4 problem on my prairie 360

the other day i was out riding and my quad wouldnt go into 4 wheel drive. So i look around and see that my speed sensor, which is located on the right side of the machine under the belt casing was broken and barley hanign on. So i went and got a new one. I put it on tonight and with my luck it didnt get fixed. I have no idea why! Could it be that the sensor i was giving was bad or what do you think??

Try resetting the actuator control unit (16-pin connector) that is under the seat just by replugging it. If that doesn't work, apply direct 12VDC to the 4WD actuator and verifiy the actuator motor is spinning. When you shut off the engine, does the EBS actuator cycle?

To verify whether the 4wd/ebs actuator servo motor is working or not, you need to apply 12VDC directly from the battery to the motor using a couple of wires with alligator clip. (+) to red and (-) to black wire of the actuator connector. While you are at the front diff gear case, try to see if there is any obvious external damage. You need to isolate whether this is an electrical or mechanical problem.
Since you just replaced teh speedo sensor, make sure the connection is good and see if you are getting a pulse signal from the pink wire of the speedo sensor connector while you are turning real wheels by hand with the ATV on stand (ignition on but engine not running).

well the 4x4 light blinks in intervals of 1 second , which indicates the actuator is malfunctioning. Can you give me a price range that u think i could get it for and is it easy to install, b.c i still dont kno wut part it is lol

Are counting a full cycle or half-cycle flashin interval? A lot of people get confused here. If it is ON for 1-sec and OFF for 1-sec, it is the EBS actuator on the cvt cover. It's real easy to replace the EBS actuator, only 3 screws and one connector. JUST MAKE SURE IT IS THE PROBLEM SOURCE before you spend your $$ and time. Look up in the kawi website for the exact price. I remember it was around $250 when I bought one about a year ago. Good luck.

what does it mean to have an speed sensor that is open? in the book it says the senor could be short or open. I kno its not short because i just got a new one but whats it mean for it to be open? And to your one question before , no the actuator doesnt cycle when the engine is shut off. It hasnt for a long time since like spring... i think ever since i took my belt casing off to replace the belt. But up until now the 4x4 has still worked.
