I am sure not happy about the whole mexico deal, but hey what can we do, All our american car companies have plants there. GM makes SUVs and other cars down there, Dodge makes allot of there trucks down there.
I am just glad I bought mine before the move. As far as parts go every manufacture outsouces parts from all over the world. That is just the way it seems to work now days.
I had never herd that about the viscus lock not working with other tires, I know allot of guys on another forum running big mud tires. I have a full set of bighorn radials for mine, allong with sand tires and the oem tires. But like I say, I don't like having to clean them up, so mudding is not a high priority for me. We go mudding maybe 2 or 3 times a year at couple places in OK. Most of the time we ride at the dunes in OK, or fast trails to rocky trails in AR. and CO.
I can tell you dont go very often if your forget your locker lol but hey to everyone thier own. what I'm saying is if you go any larger than the factory tires the visco lock doesnt work right and I perfer being able to do whatever I want to my bike and locker still work. I hope you enjoy your bomb, its a nice bike but its not very mud capable, there is a guy who is trying to figure out a way to make a true locker for it though , then it would be a great mud bike. also from what I've heard, they've already started shipping parts built in mexico for the bomb's which I frown on, I like our canadian brothers but they need to keep it in canada, and out of mexico, when stuff goes there it just goes to hell, its like sending it to taiwan.

So far on wat ive heard u should go for the kawasakies.I have a 03 prairie 360 and it performed great. Also a nice feature of the kawasakies is when its engin gets hot it has a cooling fan that turns on.The fan really helps me out on trips. The down fall to getting a prairie is there isn't very many upgrade u can do to them.P.S. Make shure (if u do get a prairie) DONT GET AN 03! They have had some problems with the front tire knees(or elbos watever they r called)I personely have had my quad do a nose dive to the ground>They did fix it on the 06 praires tho.

Hey Bruteforcebob, I looked in the microfiche and can't figure out what "splash guard" you are talking about that was improved on the '06 Brute vs. the '05. Do you have a part number available?
As for Mexico, I wouldn't be that concerned about it, personally. I work in the automotive industry, and my company does some manufacturing down there too and we also have some customers down there. The facilities I've visited were pretty impressive, honestly. I don't mean to offend anyone here, but my impression of the workers on the assembly lines in these plants is that they genuinely care about what they are doing, want to do a good job and make a quality product, and seem to feel lucky to have a decent job and be working in a facility with good conditions. Now I'm sure that this is not ALWAYS the case, but it's just what I've observed. There are plenty of fine folks at the facility here in the U.S. where I work too that would fit this description, but there are also plenty that just don't seem to give a $hit and act like we all owe them something. Like I said, I don't mean to offend anyone and also don't want to get some big debate going about whether companies should be sourcing outside the U.S. - I just personally wouldn't be all that concerned about quality of products manufactured south of our border, that's all.

Thanks, Bob. Those are the parts I was looking at in the online microfiche, but I could have sworn the part numbers were exactly the same in the '05 and '06 diagrams. I'll have another look. Maybe they don't change the part number when they update/revise a part, but it seems like it should at least have a different suffix or something to differentiate it from the old revision.
