I haven't taken mine in yet, but the nearest local dealer told me over the phone that they have a limited number of these kits, and that Kawi allocates them based on how many quads they sell and keep in stock. I didn't buy my quad from them, as I saved around $1000 by going out-of-state (sure I like to help out the local guy, but geeez!!!).

I took my BF in for some carb work and they had both the tie rod and steering stem recall installed when I picked the BF up last Monday. I knew the kits were showing up at the dealers but I didn't mention a thing to my dealer about when he was going to install them.

Steering stem recall? That's a new one to me. What is that all about? What models & years are affected by this recall? Thanks.

Well I tell ya what. I was on my way home from work yesterday and stoppped by a local shop and seen a new BF on the back of a truck smashed all to he!!. The guy had a black eye couple bruised ribs and some nasty bruses and cuts. I was like the the F$%^ happend. He said the BF recall. He was ridin about 30-40 mph on a trail next to a creek and the tie rod went and so did he and the BF. Over a embankment. That BF had the whole left side whiped. The racks were completly sideways. He said he just got his recall letter and this happend to him on Sat. I see a law suit in progress.......He said he is gettin a lawyer and sue the heck out of the dealer and Kawi. So PLEASE BECAREFUL!!!!

Ok here is the deal, the dealers are getting the 360, 650, 700 kits based on how many units they sold or have in stock. So if you went to another dealer to buy yours then you have to wait or bring it to them. Now the 750 have a different recall dealing with replace ment of the tie rod ends and installing a steering stops on the steering shaft.

So if you got a letter from Kawy then you probly shouldn't drive them untill gets updated. But hey that's when lawers are for right, just depends on how much you want to spend if you got hurt

According to my dealer the steering stem recall includes a new steering stop assembly and a bearing at the bottom of the steering shaft.

Is this 05 specific? Or are 06's included too?
