Default Mojave carb problem

I have installed a mojave carb on my lakota and it starts up and idles fine. It will run wide open great. But from idle to wide open it seems to be extremely rich. It sputers and stalls with a lot of black smoke. Which jet is incorrect? Is it the needle jet ? I do not have an adjustable neddle jet, do I need the kit? Thanks

You need to jet a jet kit so that you can jet the carb. If it is blowing black smoke then it is running rich and you will need to lean it out.

you might try go to a dealer and get some main jets that are smaller then whats in it, the Jet kit would tell you what to do for a mojave but since it's on a lakota it'd be way to rich with the suggestions for the mojave
