Steering Shake
#1
Hi guys - need some advice. I have an '05 BF650 w 27" mud lite Radials @ 5psi. I get a BAD steering shake at 30 MPH on pavement or shale roads. I'm scared to try an drive thru it coz I don't want to get tossed off at 40+ MPH. Recall was done. Found a loose steering joint when I installed a Ricochet (nice stuff) skid plate. Had dealer go over all the bolts. Thought that would fix but did not. Had the problem before the wheel / tire upgrade. Any Advice??
Thanx.... JS

Get a tire shop to check the balance on your tires/wheels. I had a set of 26" Titan 589s that were so far out of balance they couldn't be balanced. Titan replaced them with a new set and they were perfect. Also, set your toe-in to 0 or 1/16 of an inch. The bigger tires don't like too much toe-in.

Thanx for the replys - think I found the problem. 1 of the inner steering ends is loose - was loose before and was tightened by dealer. Must be bad coz it backed out and the cotter pin saved it from coming apart. I'll be takin' it back. Thanx again....JS
