Also on the locker issue i rate the bomb's visco lock right above honda because unlike honda it will eventually lock but it takes alot of time with bigger tires. La Migra over at highlifter posted a vid of his bomb rock climbing and he couldn't get over the rock due to the front end not looking and it took him a helluva lot of spinning until finally it hooked and pulled him out. Then a suzuki king quad came up unlocked and got like he did... flipped his lever and climbed right over it no problem.

That sounds like a nice feature. Nothing more embarassing when you are shooting accross a prairie then find a little marshy spring and get stuck, cant put it in 4wd and there you sit.
The more I read about those KQs the more I like them.

Ductape, I was faced with the same decision not long ago, and I went with the Brute and havent looked back since. From the start, as with women, you notice the looks. IMO, the Brute looks the meanest of any Big Ute out there, followed closely by the grizz. The next thing that I looked for was power. I have heard nothing but good things about the V-Twin, the Polaris is an inline twin which is designed for torque in other world applications, and the Bomb looked to be pretty sweet also. The next thing that I looked at was the $ issue. Hands down the Brute wins in that category. I picked up an 05 for $6,242 out the door, with a $69 winch. Next thing that I looked at was the weight. Kawasaki/Bomb are close in this category, and the Polaris falls in the obese category. It weighs in at 160 pounds over the brute weight, and I couldnt knock the idea of having the weight of an extra person with me on the quad at all times. The next thing that I looked at was the reliability/model year information. I had heard that polaris has had their share of quality problems, and the Bomb was yet to be proven since it was a first year machine. No the Brute had not been bulletproof, but the problems that I heard of where fixable things, that in reality most people will end up doing to their quads anyway(i.e. bigger tires for tippy feeling). The last thing that I looked at was dealer, how reputable they where, how accessible they where, and how they treated me. In the end I chose the kawasaki and so far I love it. The Polaris would probably be great for towing, and if you ask this question in the Bomb forum I am sure that they would tell you the Outlander is the greatest thing since buttered toast, but I bet whatever you buy you will tend to stand behind it. This sport isnt getting any cheaper, and when you spend this amount of money on a toy you want it to perform. So far my machine had performed well and I am happy with my choice. I have added a copperhead CDI, and a couple of other goodies to wake it up a little, but I didnt need them. If I get really greedy, I can always go get the 840cc kit for around a grand. As far as you looking at the sport quads at the same time, i.e. the kfx 700, once you go big sport ute you wont go back. I have had a few sport quads and I can do almost anything on this machine that I could on those, plus I can tow, plow, mud, mow, and climb things that they cant. I may own another sport quad some day for jumping, but that would be one of the very few reasons I would buy one. Good luck with your purchase and let us know which path you choose. Their are a great bunch of guys on this forum that will help you out when you need it too. Good luck.

I have both a SP and a Brute. Each is good for it's own thing. The Polaris is like a Caddy...plush and comfy for long rides and working but not as fun to play with. It also requires almost no maintenance. The Brute is a jacked up CJ-7...fun to play with but always in need of a little something more and not what you want to get stuck driving 2000 miles in.

HollowCD, that's a great post. Yeah, the utility is more versatile, I just miss having something I can jump and slide. That being said, I'm about 90% settled on the BF. Next thing I need to do is go visit the local Kawi shop and see what the the service area looks like. I've not dealt there before, so all I've seen so far is the sales room. But heck, they can't be worse than the local Polaris dealer. They are so bad I drive two hours each way to get service at a better shop.
Then all I have to do is settle on color. Camo, for practicality? (won't show scratches) Or that hot looking silver? That is one sexy looking machine in silver! But I'm not really into wash & shine all that much, I prefer to ride 'em hard and put them away muddy. Usually when I wash and shine a quad that means it's for sale! LOL.

If it was me, the silver would be in my garage. The only reason I dont have it is because there was $1000 difference between the silver 06 and the red 05 that I came home with. I think the silver looks freakin awesome. Where are you located? If you are in the midwest I can give you some good tips on some dealers.

If money is an issue, and you want to jump and slide alot, don't get the BF750. A modified Prairie 700 runs circles around the BF on the trails. Yes, the BF750 engine is powerful, once you spend a few hundred to save it from the factory detuning, but the irs setup was not designed well. The front end will bounce all over the place, and is really prone to wheeling up on hill climbs. You might want to wait and see if Kawi gets it right with their next big quad, or just get the BRP800 now that the prices are falling. Nothing out there right now is designed as well as the Outy 800. But who knows what is around the next corner from the competition.

I read about some guy buying the front recreational series shocks for the brute only for 425 but he only bought the 2 fronts and he said it made all the world of difference... I know 425 sounds alot better than what the rears and the fronts cost... the rears are like 1200. He said even when he put the stock tires back on it was still 10 times better.

It sounds like the best machine for you would be a compromise with something that combines the sporty performance of the v-force and has 4x4 when you need it. That kinda seems to make the choice simple, The V-force is a modified 2wd version of the prairie 700. I have had both and as you can tell I don't have the v-force anymore. I found there to be very little the v-force could do that the Prairie could not do just as well, and on the other hand the prairie could do several things the v-force could not. As far as speed goes the praire is almost as fast and with a few mods can be allot faster. The only thing that I noticed the v-force could do better than the Prairie was jump and it was not a great jumper as far as sport quads go, so if jumping were one of my high priortied the v-force would stil not be the machine of choice.
