Late last summer I was talking to my Kawi dealer about this quad. He said they were supposed to start receiving the KFX450 in October. This was also corroborated a while back in a DirtWheels article. He also said the quad would have a 4 speed transmission, that that after hearing this, the dealer cut their order in half, knowing that quads like that only interest a small group (MX riders).
Now here it is, February '06, and we still don't know what's coming. I speculate Kawi did some re-thinking on their product. One thing is for sure, they had better put out a kick-*** machine. They've had all the time in the world to examine the strengths and weaknesses of the other 450s, so there's no excuse for not being the best when it arrives.
Kawasaki, are you listening???

hasnt kawi waited too long to drop a 450? Could that be why its takin so long? They need to hit the market with something new to boost sales. All this after spliting with suki, they better bring something hot! I really hope they dont focus on a pure race quad. That usually means no reverse and a kick start, great if your racing all the time but I like riding trails, electric start and reverse are a plus.
