02 650 Prarie.. Odometer tamper proof?
#1
Hi guys... my old man just picked up a 2002 KVF 650 Prarie with 1150 km on it... Just wondering if it's possible to tamper with the odometer at all or is it a safe bet it has 1150 km on it?
The original tires are on it and fairly wore.. not bald but wore good. Once I took it for the first test drive I see how this could be possible lol.. INSANE power compared to my 2000 Kodiak! And the fenders are pretty scuffed from the passengers legs rubbing, more than my Kodiak and I have 2500 km on mine.. although I guess it depends alot on how long the passengers legs are and what they are wearing..
he paid $5600 cdn, but it came with a nice kimpex back seat, winch, fairing/windsheeld, heated grips and thumb, fender guards and rear footpegs.. between that and having very low km it seems like a good deal.

yes the ODO is tamperable... someone here somehow managed to disconnect the power to the odo and put 2000km on the bike with out showing any click on the odo. You can not loose the clicks or hours by switching the CDI which most people think. To my knowledge you can not roll back.
