Default Prarrie 360 tires and other mods.

Hi guys. I'm new to the forum. I have an '04 prarie 360, and would like to upgrade a few items. I added a warn 2.5 ci winch, but that's it. I was thinking of getting some new tires. Can anyone tell me if I'd have to modify anything if I wanted to go with 26" tires over my stock 25s? I was worried they might rub.

Also, is there any manufacturer that makes a black high performance exhaust? All I can find are aluminum or chrome plated, which doesn't make sense to add to my camo ATV.

Any upgrades you can list would be greatly appreciated. I look forward to BSing w/ ya'll in the future.

THANKS!

I also can't find anyone who makes a good 26 8x10.

THANKS!

I don't have a 360 but I don't think a 26" tire would rub. I know they are roughly the same size body wise as a 650 brute sra and a 700 prairie. I have seen both of those bikes with 26's on them and they had some room to spare. Check out hmf for exhaust. They make exhaust with a poweder coated silencer. I know they have black because by buddie just bought one in black for his brute 750. As far as tires I really can't help you to much. Check out the mudlites from itp. They are a good all around tire with some extra bite, but I'm not sure if they are avaliable in your size. Something you might want to consider is when you get some tires chances are they will be heavier and have a more aggressive tread pattern than the stock ones. It's gonna take more power to pull the extra weight and extra traction when you get in the mud. Most people go with a clutch kit or you could try changing your primary drive spring. By changing the spring you will allow you motor to rev slightly higher before the clutch engauges. This will help to keep you atv from bogging trying to pull the tires. Plus they are only about $25 so it's a cheap mod. Hope some of this helped.

Well, If you want a good trail tire, i would suggest skip the 26 inch and get the deep lugged version 25 in mudlight. Thats what i have on mine and they are great. Hardly any power loss if any. I also sugest you getting some clutch springs. I suggest atleast getting the epi black secondary spring. That helps low end and grab the belt better. IF you have anymore questions, feel free to ask.

I run 26" Gators on my 360 without any rubbing at all (I love them) and they are 1" wider in the back, that really helps getting thru the mud. I have lost some torque on the low end with the 26" tires in high range so, I will be adding a spring package soon.

I would strongly recommend you re-consider an aftermarket exhaust. The 360's are low compression engines to begin with and many people have found (myself included) that bigger exhaust systems do not work well on the 360's. Most people will agree that Kawasaki did a good job with the exhausts on these bikes. Before you buy do a lot of investigating.

I would also recommend you install a skid plate for protection particularly under your oil filter. I do a lot of off the wall riding and I have been very happy more times than not that I had one on the bike.

Hope this helps,
Mud

I tuly appreciate the feedback. I'm going to look around for some 26 inch tires some more. I can't seem to find any in the 26 8x10 size. I really don't want to change rims as well. I wouldn't be bummed if I had to go with th 25s.. Anything's better than the stock tires I have on it now.

The black epi secondary spring? what about the primary? I've read oh here that if you change the springs, the whole clutch wears faster. Any idea on a good whole clutch replacement? and how steep they are price wise??

And don't worry about upgrading the exhaust? I knew if I did, I'd have to rejet. I have a Kawi kdx 200, and when I added a FMF gnarly and turbine core 2 silencer, it really woke the bike up. It was definetly my best mod I put on the bike.

Any ideas of the cheapest online store for parts? And the best skid pates? I guess I need to get racker arm covers too??

THANKS AGAIN GUYS!!
