Kawasaki Mojave Rear Brakes
#1
Ok, I recently bought a project quad(1991 Kawasaki Mojave). And apparently the previous owner left it sit outside in the weather. So, the rear disk is has a good rust coating on it. And I can't get the disk off so, I have to use it. Now I purchased new brake pads and installed them and bled the brakes. But the brakes are grabbing SEVERELY! I can barely move the quad with all of my might. Does anybody have any ideas on what could be going wrong here? The caliper also doesn't have the parking brake assembly attached to it anymore, so would it not being there have anything to do with it either??? Any help PLEASE!
Thanks, Matt

When you put the new brake pads on, did you clean the caliper up good. The pins that it slides on can get real gunked up and keep the caliper from sliding back and forth even if the piston is working right. that is what happened to mine and it took me two sets of pads to figure out.

did you press the brake piston back in when you installed the pads.....its possible the piston got stuck out and is pushing on the pads all the time......hey toyaddict how does that mojo of yours run? do you have any pictures of it?
