Major help needed

Default Major help needed

After changing out the front diff oil. I was puttig the bolt back into the drain hole and was tighting it up when It jsut became very Loose I unscrewed the bolt and what i found was that the threads inside the front diff drain hole had actually broke and cam out with the bolt Now not all of them came out but enough came out that You can not get the bolt good and tight
What can i do?

Measure the diameter of the drain hole that does not have the threads anymore. I would guess it is about 10 mm since the bolt was 8 mm in dia. Go to NAPA or PepBoys and buy a Helicoil repair kit set that has the correct size insert. After you redrilling a fresh hole and installing the thread insert, flush out the aluminum chips with by adding some new oil. Things happen.... Good luck.

Is this something that would normally be covered under warranty? If I still had one

It all depends on dealers. Some may cover and others may not. Call your dealer and ask. BTW, who tightened so hard last time, facotry, dealer or you?

yea ur gunna have to rethread that sucker and yea check the warranty cuz it might help!

Took my brute to the dealer and turns out the warranty just expired last month but hey ended up doing all the work and didn't charge a dime. How about that for service!!

Very good service. How about posting the Dealership name, good ones are few and far between.
