Default Mojave Carb Swap? 300ex or 400ex

First of all the stock carb Sucks! My Ds had that Vacum Slide and you loos a bunch of performance with it. The Mojave is a 34 mm the 300ex is a 32 also kinda makes sense since its only 50 cc bigger, I read that a bunch of ya are putting a 400Ex 35.5mm on also, I guess that would be OK once a pipe is added. Having a accelerator pump will increase the bottom end and easier starting too.
I'm gathering that Im on my own making a tube air boot also from the carb to snake around the shock for a air filter,

Thoughts

Stock is 34mm and the 400ex carb flows the same as the Mojave I believe. Get a 36mm Mikuni RS from Greg at cycleworksracing.net It's only $145 and has great gains, it's not a vaccum carb either

I know this is a few month old thread but I thought Id ask the question here instead of making a new thread.....Since a 400ex carb will fit a mojave, and a 450R carb will fit a 400ex with some small modifications will the 450R carb fit the mojave? has anyone tried this before?

Mojo21,

How do you like your motor? I'm thinking about having the 330 kit install in the winter. Is it enough power?

I'm waiting for my 36mm carb to come in. Can't wait!

Thanks

go for the 330 kit it will make your mojave haul a$$, i dont have any first hand experience but i can say that cwr does great engine work and the cams and there custom made pistons rock......as far as the carb any 36mm flat or round slide would work great but a custom throttle cable might need to be made....

Yeah, Greg setting me up. I'll prolly go with a 330 in a couple of months. He said it could take anywhere from 1-2 months. He's a busy builder.

Shoeboxss...I love itt!!!!! Sorry for responding later but yea its nice. I still want more power though. That will never end no matter what. I would go with the 330 kit as holeshots said it will haul azz. I stil have my 43 stock sprocket on the back and a 13 tooth on the front and i whooped a modded blaster...past him like he was standing still. I was going to do the 330 kit but lack of money being im only 17. I wanted it now too, that dont help. Later in life the 330 kit will be in mine when i start my buisness in a few years.

The 400ex carb is free, and it has to out perform the stock mojave vaccum slide, and ya cant beat free, down teh road if I modify the motor I might step up, its a duner only, getting a Big Gun exhaust, and I got some cams also, some WEB #228 yeah for free, its funny all my buddies say sell it get a 400ex for your kid, i would like to see what this water cooled little 250 can do hopped up.
