if it's on pavement it should do around 68-72mph....dirt slows it down. Top speed don't mean a whole lot unless your racing for a mile anyway. CT racing makes a great pipe for the 400's

 

Find out what the revv limit is, If you do not increase the amount of revvs in every gear your top speed cant really go up. It will just get to the limit much faster after mods. A pipe will make a big difference I suppose.

 

yes, anything can be geared for top end speed, if they don't have the mods all working together they will likely have a greater E.T., looseing the race

 

if you go with a pipe I HIGHLY recomend the Yoshimura pipe, its pricey but has more performance gains for the bike than others. I raced a Z400 for about 3 years and ran yoshi's on all 3 tried other pipes and they didnt give the amount seat of the pants power in my opinion

 

i'd get a pipe that puts power throughout the whole powerband such as a CT like stated before, i read yoshi's only put the power from low-mid an dont add any to top.
