bayou 220 question
#1
My friend has a bayou 220. We noticed the front tires are angled inward. It looks to us like all the bayou's have this. Just wondering what the reasoning behind this is since no other atv does this? Is this a design flaw? Can someone explain it to me? thanks alot!

The tie-rods connect between the rear wheel assembly and the steering knuckle. The ends of the tie rods are threaded so that when you turn them, the rear of the wheel will move right or left creating a given toe-in or toe-out setting. I believe that wheels that are positioned straight ahead are conssidered as having neutral toe.
The rods can be rotated once you loosen the locking nut at each end. You will notice too that the tie-rod has an indentation where you can hold it with a (if my memory is correct) a 12mm wrench. Be sure to do this when you loosen the locking nuts, otherwise you might damage the tie-rod ends.
Be sure to tighten the locking nuts once you have the wheels positioned straight ahead. A good way to check this is to simply take a tape measure and measure the distance between the front of the left and rights wheels and then back of the same. Choose a the same spot on each wheel and you should be close enough for an ATV.
