You have to account for the 124lb weight difference and the drag you'll get from the front end CVs. HP is more like 46 vs 53 (being generous on the cc to hp conversion at 15:1). And, the rider's skill set will also play into who can handle the wheeler at those higher speeds. If we were living in a vacuum then the Outlander would have a fighting chance. If we're talking hypotheticals that's one thing. What I want to know is who's gonna fork over the $9G's + to buy one just to say they've got the most cc's? Guess we'll never know the answer until one of us pulls the trigger, picks one up and drags everyone else on the hill. Need to draw straws right about now...

The KFX 700 is pretty mellow in stock form. Even pipes dont make much of a difference with these beasts. You have to know what your doing with engagement/shiftout points of the clutch to get anywhere. When you start messing with higher compression pistons and cams, the V turns into a real screamer. It will be interesting to see just how much the Can Am 800 engine can be built up.

Oh and the Can-Ams don't have the notorious problems with belts slipping due to getting we t that the brutes and prairies have. The Kawi has a great motor and is nice but is considerably less powerful than the Can-Am. V-forces almost always lose drag races to piped 400ex's as far as I have seen. I am so not impressed with the V-forces!
A piped 400 ex does not stand a change against a V. Ive run several and it wasnt close at all.

I second that....I've ridden both and the 400ex is not as fast at all...maybe if the V700 was only hittin on one plug

markdb420 I don't know about Goldsboro NC or Virginia Beach, Virginia, but out west your 2005 TRX 450R is stomped into the dirt. I would compare it to the 400ex only a slight notch above. Get a 2006 and then you have a fast machine.
The races you saw are most likely stock machines. And yes a 800 v-twin well beat many others with high 8500+cost.
Add 500 dollars to 7000 dollar machine and get right mods and the 700 and 750 will beat a stock outty 800 every time.

Yes, a 2005 450R isn't the fastest machine, stock, but mine isn't stock. The guys out here are not running many stock machines. I know that the Raptor 700's that two of my friends have has absolutely destroyed V-forces with many mods (pipe, CDI, and clutch kits), and they are stock. I have witnessed a piped and programmed Outty decimate most everything out there. The guy owns the Polaris/Can-Am dealership. Yes the cost is around $8000 on the Outlander, and it is well worth it! V-forces on flat ground with mods here are getting smoked bad in 300' drags. Sorry it is a fact. They are a nice machine for people that cannot or do not want to use a clutch and shift gears, but a racer they are not! Its funny because I don't beat everyone, but I do beat alot of folks, and very few stock machines actually line up with those of us that have modifications. My machine is far from stock, and runs better than the 2006 450r with HRC kit so I am pleased with it. It is great in the dirt and no where near a 400ex.

You won't get any footage of the Renegage because they are'nt even out yet -- duh, even if they were the only footage you would get would be the tail light!

I went to the drags a couple weeks ago and a guy there was cleaning house in every class he was in. my buddy has a very highly modded BF 750 and he got smoked by that outlander. The outlander even raced a heavily modded banshee and the banshee only won by a tire. All I can say is that they are freakin fast.
