Prairie 650 jetting for mountains
I'm fixing to do the Alpine Loop thing and will be operating my 650 Prairie from 9000 to about 13000 foot elevation. Right now I live at 1300 foot and figure I'll need to rejet it before we leave. The 2002 Prairie is pretty much stock as far as the air filter goes. So what size jets do I need for that elevation?

I'm going to colorado elk hunting in oct. also have 650 I plan on getting on step smaller jets. I'll be ridding 10,000 to 6,000 ft. I haven't talked to anyone with a 650 that has been in the mountains, but would like to. I'm trying to find a kit with multiple jets so i can change them if need be. Good luck and have fun.

I'm surprised that there was no more response to my question. Is it perhaps that the OEM jets are good enough for most? I know I'll be changing the jets in my Rhino from 155 down to probably 140 or 135. I'm not going to bother with a kit but a few $3 jets should have me covered.

Yeah I'm suprized too. I've talked to alot of people that have taken there atv to the mountains stock and not had much of a problem. But they aren't v twins either. Also there would be a big jump from 8500 to 13000. Every body I've talked too 8500 is the highest they have been. Just ran a little rich so they carried a extra plug. But I would like to have mine set up good so I don't have any problems. Spend more time hunting not wrenching.
