06 brute 750 vs. kq 700 vs. polaris 800
It is funny to see all of the 750 boys get so upset over the "little ol 650i" being so fast....LOL
Since I have owned a BF750, I can HONESTLY say that I cannot tell a difference in the two. My 650i has the Dyna CDI and it is very quick. I think the 750 is faster on top end speed but I do not think there is much of a difference in quickness--If there is a difference, I think the 650i may actually be quicker, especially with the Dyna CDI.

roofer,
keep in mind those numbers were posted to a laptop by a radar gun, not e.t. at a drag strip. if the kq 700 was that close to the brute force after 10.56 seconds, it could have been running the same speed but three quads behind. similar to going to the track and seeing a guy run a second faster in the quarter with one less mph. a person may think "what the heck?" well, the kq has the hp to get those top speed numbers but not the low end response to launch it off the line.
as for the 650i beating or being indicated as faster than the 750 in three different magazines, it does run 10:1 compession, has cross drilled holes in the gears of the tranny to make it rev up faster and other differences to the engine giving it additional horsepower over other kawi 650 v-twins, prarie 650 700 and 650 sra all fall below the 650i engine power. (humbly i admit the 750 does not- cause i am humble despite my quad being so fast, good looking, great handling, well you get the idea about my humility)

According to that, a KQ would be close to a 750 and that just isn't true. Also, assuming the SP800 is faster than a Sp700, that would make it faster than a 750. This also isn't true.
Anyhow, those numbers are interesting.

fact: if the 750 beats the 800 po po, then the 650i beats it by just a little bit more.
basic algebra if a>b and b>c then a must be >c
a= brute force 650i
b= brute force 750
c= poo poo 800
look, i'll admit something if you will. i don't have a 750 around here to race. do you have a 650i. we really need to get two guys near each other together and scouts honor post the results. i live in maryland and would love to represent the 650i but i have a feeling most of us live in michigan or minnesota. i think the 650i would take it in a drag where it counts but the 750 has the same midrange power but some say better high speed racing. i cannot deny that my 650i is a beast up to 50 but after 60 it's one mph at a time. i've hit 63 (speedo) before slamming on brakes cause the driveway ended and that was the end of that. however, i'm not too big on racing after 50. most showing off and dragging will be up to 50 on trails and farm straightaways. that's where i/we claim to shine and do!
one exception i think the bigger cubes will play is a drag race with bigger than stock tires. that would be the little engine that coulds downfall.

I have owned a brute and a king and the brute is quicker to about 45mph and then the king will catch and pass it on the way to 72mph. So I would say that is pretty close on those results. I do own a Outty right now and I will tell it DOES blowaway the brute with a cdi from start to finish, I know I owned both of them!!

You said you wanted two guys who had a 750 and 650 well me and my bud do. Mines 06 his is 07 750 ive already posted on this. And for peat sakes put a turbo rocket launcher on a kingquad and ill still line him up, BECAUSE, his ex girlfriend has a kq 700 so we have experience with it also. Jason650i my dear friend, you need to hit the tarmac for a better stretch, yall can think im lieing if you want but im an honest person, today i chased a car down with my girlfriend aboard, total weight around 270 pounds, and i hit 69mph do not call me a liar the digital speedo read 69 and got there fast, so um yes im definitely topping 70mph by myself. You can smoke past 63 partner, and my 650i does not crawl after 60, im beginning to think i got kawasaki's 1 special edition road rocket lol . I've been meaning to ask for some top speed readings from you good folks, funny thing is, ive had it the fastest with that girl on with me, and not by myself lol. By the way not dissing on ole suzuki, me thinks kq is very nice machine and damn sure fast. good riding -joe

I think the Kawi V-twins are geared more for low end punch. The King is fast after it gets out of the timing retard up to 2000 rpms, so it's not suprising that it has a higher top speed...while the V-twin does have an advantage of an extra cylinder, the King has the advantage of dual overhead cams, higher compression and better fuel delivery with EFI. Since it sounds like in stock form it has a higher top speed than the BF 750, when have yet to see what kind of power the KQ really is hidding down low...it's timing up to 2000 rpms is severly retarded. I think you V-twin guys will be suprised when the KQ is right there in power after it has proper timing. VDI is saying their AC 700 test unit can do burnout's now with their early build of a ECU advancing timing.
