Default another new four wheeler

although i'm loving my new 650i, we're in the market for another four wheeler. we're selling our old 300 honda 4x4 and getting a newer (but still used) four wheeler. it's for my younger brother who is 18. we were thinking about vinson 500 manual, prarie 700 or suz twin peaks 700(same thing right?) any other suggestions for a fast fun quad. irs can go either way, would love a diff lock up front or at least a good stock diff. would prefer a 4x4 you can switch into without moving. that way we can play till we get stuck in 2wd and get ourself out. with my new brute, you have to switch ahead of time. that's not the most important feature though.
so i have two questions
1. can you think of any other quads we should also be looking at, maybe polaris 500? another?
2. what can you tell me pros and cons wise of these two quads? like will chip wake one up soo much it's worth getting (like the kind quad 700 suppose to be a beast chip when it comes out) any little thing you can tell me would be helpful.
also if i did get a vinson, are there certain years which have more features or more power/better gearing.
please bore me with too much info. that's what we need. thanks alot, jason

I had a kawie 700 prairie and loved it. I would have kept it except I wanted the IRS for muddy rut trails at the deer lease and other places. Sometimes, I wish I would have kept it and still bought the bf750. I personally think the 700 prairie is the best all around quad. It is very fast, yet handles like a sports car. It as great power and torque. And it has the progressive diff locker, which is awesome.

The vinny 500 is a great quad too! But it doesn't have a diff lock.

we're not buying him a new one. a cheaper used one. we can go back as far as 2002 and find a prarie 650 for cheap or a used 500 vinson. he's too young for all that v twin power i think, but i want him to be able to outrun our friends polaris 500. hmm!

If your worried about the rider age and ability to handle the power then why in the hell do you want him to be able to outrun a 500 polaris???? I'm not antirace by a long shot. However I am against seeing people put under experienced under age kids on large big bore machines. My god are you trying to get them killed? I'm all about people racing and having fun but there are enough people out there attacking ATV's without giving them more ammo.

A good cheap alternative would be the Suzuki Quadrunner 500. I owned one for 3 years, plenty of power and dependable.

If you want to spend more money I would go with the Prairie 700 because there is so much support and gofast parts available.

geez fatboy,
the experience of the rider is the very reason i'd like to limit the power. he's riden a honda 450 foreman and we'd like to pass that down to my sister and get a 500 class with some umph for him. but he's 18 1/2 and all i had at 18 was the foreman 300 4x4. at 14 or 15 i had a champ 100. when he raced a polaris 400 with our 450 honda he lost and that's just sad. we want good 500 class of power, just not great like our 650i for him. lighten up. we're being responsible.
