Default does dyna cdi require premium fuel

i have dyna cdi on order for my brute force 650i and assume i'll need to run premium because of the advanced timing. are there any negative consequences to running premium over regular. i say no but have heard yes. what do you guys think that have them now. i sure dont want pinging, that's for sure.

my dealer told me that i should use 91 octane in my bf750. The manual only says 87, but shoot my Harley always takes premium anyway (high compression), so better safe than sorry.

timeing advance doesent make your compression any higher so no, high compression high octane low compression low octane thats the rule of thumb for gas

That's not true...if you have more timing in something, there is more chance of detonation, which will kill a motor. Sure, if you have higher compression, you should use higher octane gas, but that's not the only factor. I have a 00' mustang gt with a motor that is built for boost, 8.5:1 compression, the tune on it is kind of aggressive, meaning, the timing is higher than stock. I have to run 93 in it......

I say, call and ask whoever you bought the box off of and see what they recommend, but I would say that you should use atleast 89 or 91.....
