were did all the mojave post go....no one post ne thing bout the mojaves or lakotas....i wanna see sum post lol....good or bad

 

I posted a thread like this awile back and people responded. I think its cuz the mojaves and lakotas are small bored quads and no one wants to ride these things since theres the 450s out now....I dont blame them.

I'd like to ride mine more but I'm afraid or grenading it if I wind it up too much. Don't get me wrong- it runs like a scalded cat, but with the bigger cams and the KLR CDI box with no rev limiter I'd hate to keep gunning for the moon. I'm gonna get some hardened rocker arms and some stainless steel valves. Tempting is a 280 kit that just came out, I'm really wrestling with that one. Have no complaints with the Lakota, a very versatile quad- it's even a blast in the snow...............

 

Kawckermann, I saw that 280 kit greg has after the fact i bought my piston kit which is still stock .20 over bore but high comp....lol. Im kinda bumming from that, if i wouldve waited i wouldve got that.... Maybe next time. Also you dont have hardened rockers with them .380 cams?? I thot you had to run them with the cams?? Too aggresive of a cam for stockers. hmmm......

High compression, eh mojo? What do you use for gas? The hardened rocker arms are highly recommended as the stockers will pretzel, and the stock valves- well they'll just pull thru the head with apprpriate stiffer valve springs. Do ya know if ya hafta bore the case with the 280 kit or just press in a new sleeve?

 

Kwackerman sorry fer not responding sooner....I use sonoco 94 from a gas station around my town. Its super pure and smells real fresh. The 280 kit is a stock replacement just a either a bore job or a new sleeve...not too sure which one it is but I know it dont need the case bore. If it needed case bore i would go all out with the 33o kit. It would be rediculise to go smaller with a case bore. I really want to get a 03' honda cr 250r so i maybe getting out of this mojave sickness with working the hell outa it and start with a bike for next year. I still have to talk to the parents though to see if i could sell the mo. Would any of you know a decent price i should ask for it with all the mods i have...i was thinking $2500 obo.
