I went from a KFX400 to a KFX700. It had nothing to do with not being able to ride a manual clutch quad. I bought the 700 to use as a trail quad. The Auto and the extra ground clearance of the shaft drive were a plus for riding out on the trails. I soon found that I liked it better than my 400 so I began to modify the 700 and turned it into my dune quad. I can't even stand to ride the 400 out on the dunes anymore. It beats the crap out of me, and it is too slow.
vforce911,
I'm sorry that you have had troubles with your V, but I assure you that it isn't the norm. Other than some having troubles with bending tie rods (I am still running on the originals.), the V has been fairly problem free. Simple oil changes and normal maintenance are all that is required.

Maybe Kawasaki was thinking about people like me. The older I get, the less shifting I like to do. When I was younger and just starting to drive, I had to have a car with a manual transmission. At that time in my life you just couldn't sell me a car with an automatic transmission. But now, you couldn't give me a car or truck with a manual transmission. I don't care if I'm driving coast to coast and there's only one stop sign along the way. I would still want an automatic.
The KFX700 is one of the best quads I have ever owned.
