Default 07 BF 650i smoking

I was set to buy an 06 Polaris 700 from Polaris of Chattanooga, but was skeptiacal after hearing the salesman say they may be closing. I called back the next day and cancelled my order. I went to Hager Cycle in SC and tested the KQ700, BF750i and BF650i. I really liked the BF650i and got a great deal on an 07 Camo. After riding it for the first time I noticed that there was some smoke coming from it and I smelled something burning. I have read some of the past posts where people were experiencing something similar. Is this common? I assume it is just "burn off" from production coatings and fluids, but just wanted to make sure. The unit seems tight and always seems to be "maxed out" as I accelerate, but it just keeps pulling. I am going to take it for an extended ride on Thursday and want to make sure the smoking is a non issue. Any input is appreciated.

Also, does the BF650i have a decompression valve/switch for pull starting?

Thanks,
Escham

yea, there is an automatic compression release. you can hear it kick off after you start it sometimes. the smoking is probably just the paint on the exhaust...

Thanks Monty. Where did you get your accessories (brushguard in particular)?

the brush gaurd came from ebay, but i haven't seen one there for a while. it is a Kawasaki part. i bought the rack extentions from the Kawasaki site, and i bet the brush guard is available there too.
