i am in the market for a new quad, i have always bought hondas but they get on my nerves with the whole "no locker" thing. my question is what can i expect for 5000-6000$$. what are the pros and cons? any help would be appriciated.

For the $5000 mark you could get a slightly used Prairie 700. Solid rear axle, tons of power, a great machine. Get closer to the $6000 mark you could get a hold over model if you can find one. Maybe a 650i or 750 brute. Any of them that you choose will be leaps and bounds better and more fun than the Hondas.

No problem. The belt drives have now been around for quite some time and have been perfected. Furthermore, most of them offer a drain plug just incase you get water in it.
