Zerk Fittings on Brute 750 universal joint hard to get to? any suggestions
#1
I am trying to lubricate my brute 750's rear prop shaft zerk fittings, and they are hard to get to. A normal grease gun will not work, any suggestions out there?

I couldn't get to mine on my kodiak 450.....I did find a long wand like 4" long that comes to a point(for grease guns) at the local tracktor supply store....it may work....

Erm, is ur 750 a '05 model? I havent lookd at them but our brutes do not have zerks on the two rear universal joints man. Not a zerk at all, ive done crawled under it looking around at the assembly, also dropped the wimpy plastic skidplate to make changing the oil easier. I had looked for a different grease gun fitting when i had my 450 Kodiak as the Zerks were difficult to grease on the rear wheel irs bushings. gl to ya

The 05s have zerks on the prop shaft. Remove the left rear wheel for access. Pull straight back on the prop shaft, it is spring loaded. This will allow you to remove the shaft. Makes it easy to grease. This is the way the manual says to do it. It says to remove the left foot rest but you do not have to.

well, if you do pull the shaft to grease those fittings, it wouldnt hurt to regrease the splines and even put a nice coating of waterproof grease on the seals and all that.

If you remove the shaft make sure you realigned them they don't just go their like that.try to look at a manuel.
