If it's squealing in gear it has to be too tight.Did you make sure the deflection was no less than 22mm?When I went to a 700 belt and set the deflection at 22 mine squealed ever so slightly at idle in gear but has since stopped.

How do you set the deflection when installing a new belt? I've heard that it's a difficult procedure.

Thanks

You remove a shim (washer) to make the belt tighter, or add a shim to make the belt looser. There should be a few shims on the fixed sheave's shaft of the driven converter. You should remove/add one at a time and check/measure.
