I have a 1987 Kawasaki Bayou 300. When I unhooked the battery it starts clanging and then it dies. Could someone help or I need the specks for the ohms to check. Thanks any help appreciated

 

well to me it sounds like it isn't charging and it running off of the battery when it is running diconnect the 3 wires that connect to the rectifier they should be yellow and if it dies then I would have to say your stator is bad since those wires go to your stator...also if you can take a multimeter to your battery and check to see how many volts it has since it is important to have a good strong batterysince if the quad isn't recharging itself from the stator then it will kill the battery and that will let you know what is wrong ...let me know how you make out.
