Default MOOSE IGNITION MODUALE

even though my 650 sra has only 17 miles on it, i did a test with my new moose mod. let it warm up for 10 min. and rode around the yard a few minutes till it was operating temp. in hi range from a dead stop it would pull the wheels about 10 inches for about 25 ft. did this twice. installing the moose is so fast the machine didn't cool much. pulled in the same area in my yard in high and stopped. i stabbed the throttle and if i hadn't hit the rear brake it would have body slammed me. put it in hi 4wd and no difference, went vertical. it's the best $90 i've ever spent.

Really, cause I spent about $225 for the ignition module and jet kit. And, that is not including the installation. Sure some of you can do it yourselves, but I don't work on my BF since it is under extended warranty and I don't want to screw it up. Anyway, if you got it for $90, I would also like to know.

There is a moose module and then there is a moose ignition cdi. You must have gotton just the module, not the ignition cdi. I agree with Vtwin, I also spent about $250 on my ignition and jets. I did all of my installation, just becouse I am cheap!

Could you tell me what all is involved in rejetting the carbs on a BF? I have a BF 750i with just a Moose module. My BF stumbles just a touch off low idle, but does fine after that. I just installed new wheels and 27" Interco Swamplites. The power I have now is fine, but more is always an option for later. I would hate to get in to a jet project and get something screwed up and have to take it to a dealer to get it right again. If you have directions, and maybe a link to a site with pics etc... that would be ****!

I bought the moose jet kit, there are detailed instructions and pics with the kit. Once you are able to get to the carbs on the BF the install is easy. I have prior experience, and the project took me about two hours. The power gains are worth the labor!! I run 27" swamp witches, and I can still stand her up with ease!

Ok, help me understand the difference. I believe I got the moose ignition kit and the jet kit, but what is the real difference between a moose module and a moose ignition kit and what does each do differently?

The module is not a cdi. It is a small box that intercepts the info to the stock cdi and changes the low end timing, so it is not retarded on a take off.
The ignition module is a dyna cdi, simply put. It replaces the stock cdi box and gives more power and better response in all rpms. It raises rpm, no belt light limp mode, no reverse override, runs cooler.

Both are worth the money, just depends where you need the power.

Vtwin, I am pretty sure that you have the moose ignition and jet kit. Which is the same set-up as me. If you want to make sure lift off your seat, on the right side is where the "ignition" box is. Its just a black box with three quick connect wire cables going to it. It should say on it moose ignition.
