Default winch contacts location

I just bought a 07bf650i and was in too big of hurry to ride and told the dealer I'll put the winch on. Where do I put the contact? If any help be specific. My first ATV and this thing is like a rocket.

Thank you
Anthony

It recommends to put it on the rear of the quad on the frame. I put mine under my seat where my tool pouch is. I had to move tool pouch to the very rear of the under seat compartment. I had to use my dremel to cut out a little plastic to fit the cables in there but it is really protected in there and looks alot better than having it hang off the back of the quad. If you need pics, let me know and I will upload some for ya.

I put mine under the seat to keep it dry and out of the weather.
I have installed many winches now and it all depends on the bike. Grizzlys 660 are best under the seat & the new 700 I installed it in the dry box on the right fender. Look for a dry place that is will fit and you are going to lose room somewhere. Make sure when you run the wires you keep them away from anything hot and sharp stuff tie wrap everything.

If possible, I install every one under the seat. You can do so on your quad. On a couple of Honda quads I have mounted them in the tool box.
The location on the rear of the frame that is recommended by the manufacturer of the winch is a terrible place to mount it. If you go in really deep water, it will be one of the first things under water. As soon as the quad hits the water, it's NOSE UP.

I wire my contactor on the rear bar, where the company said to. But I am going to move it under my seat where everyone else is putting theres. It just sounds better, and safer. Does anyone have any pictures of how yours was installed there?

my brute(warn) has it on the rear bar and my rubicon's(ramsey) is under the rear fender. never had a problem, you dont even actually see them. they are waterproof and sealed. i just replaced my warn one becuase of the recall. took the old one off, took it apart to see if it had anything in it(i do alot of mud and water riding) it was bone dry, just like the day it was manufactured.

look at this if you havnt seen it!!

Well that makes me feel better, knowing that you ride in mud/water and have had no problems. I also have a warn winch mounted on the rear bar, and if it is fine there I will spend time riding and not changing it around. Also that re-call information was good stuff. I checked mine, I have the newer 4 prong one.
