05 brute wont go in 4 wheel

Default 05 brute wont go in 4 wheel

does anybody have an answer why my 650 wont go into 4 wheel , i hit the botton and nothin g no noise nothing

Is this the SRA model or IRS.
If it is the SRA Model, then pull of the fuses, clean out the fuse holder, restall the fuses & see if that fixed it.
Check your Fuses, are they good?
Or you may have a Bad 4x4 Actuator.
There is a test for the Actuator but you will need the Service Manual for the step by step test instructions.

Default 05 brute wont go in 4 wheel

i checked fuses there ok then i started switching the 4 to 2 drive button and heard a very faint noise in the actuator so i took it out some oil came out then i hit the button with it out and nothing so i put it back in still dont work but now the lights on the dash keep switching from 2 to 4 and wont stop . what a mess

See if you can reset/clear the 2/4WD light flashing problem by re-plugging the control unit (smaller black box) under the seat with the engine OFF. When 2/4WD is flashing, you can't engage to 4WD by the default setting of the system. You have either bad control unit and/or the actuator(s), depending on the flashing mode (1,2,3).

It's the actuater..I just went thru it..Blinking lights and all...The worste part is it wont be the last time you replace it..

That depends on the flashing mode that you need to count the cycle time, most likely the EBC though.

it was the 4x4 actuater..if it's blinking back and fourth real quick,that's it..I know if it blinks slower,it's something else

what is up with their acuator s ? they schould recall them and get some other design some one was saying take the fork out and remove the one acuator is this really ok what do you lose and what do you gain?
