hey, this is what i found on the highlifter forum!
"The Dyna CDI is already 34 degrees and going above 37 degrees can actually hurt performance and engine. I would not add a key at all from experience with my prairie. I removed my 4 degree key for better performance with the dynatek cdi.
If you get the copperhead you can retard the cdi to work with a 6 degree key. The dyno's I've seen above 36 degrees had no performance increase and it is dangerous."
also found that the key also does not work well with a module either, like the Highlifter, Moose, or DG5. the bike will hardly run because of too much timing!

You can run a degree key and any module together with no problems.
Myself and many others do. A 4 degree key and a module will only give 32 degrees advance. The module has no effect on maximum timing advance, the factory CDI is limited to 28 deg, a module does nothing to change that.

i was just stating what someone elses expierience was. they had a BF650 sra with a degree key(ran great) and added a Highlifter module and the bike would barely run(said it would hardly go down the road). the module was put into another bike and it operated fine. so, they concluded that a module could not be run with a degee key. i dont know much about the timing, keys, and such. i was looking for info for someone else. seems that some can and some cant, kinda like the miss the DYNA CDI produces on some BF750's and not on other BF750's.
