I think that I have probably found the wrorst atv to use in the snow....that would be the bayou 220!!! I say this b/c the quad is waaay too light to push it'self in the snow, and it has push steer so you can't even steer to where you want to go...!! What can I do to get better traction in snow? without getting now tires? thanks

I had the exact same problem with my 220 in Colorado last month. I have the Stryker tires on the back but still has to put all the weight on the back end and keep it rockin from side to side to keep it going in deep snow. Although to make it actually steer I had to put all of my weight forward so the wheels would get traction and turn. We also had a 3 wheeler with us. It was an old Yamaha 225 with new bushwacker tires on back (I don't know who makes them) but his machine had more ground clearance and the combination of the two seemed to help marginally. I think 4WD would help a lot more along with some more weight. I do admit the light weight of the 220 was nice every time I had drag it out of a snow drift.

I do not have to worry about this problem too often when I ride here in Texas, it only snows about once a year and just stays on the ground for a day or so.

dont get chains, they dont help that much, just get 2 of the sand tubes that you put in the back of trucks and tie one to the front racks, and one to the back

And! You can buy the chains right out of Northern Tool & Equipment Catalog. "Northerntool.com". Or call 1.800.533.5545 and order your first catalog.

You can buy circular weights that fit on the side wall and cover the rim to add some weight. I saw this setup for a lawnmower with a plow
