2/4WD light flahsing on the meter has nothing to do with the belt light resetting procedure. The 2/4WD flashing indicates there is a problem in the either 2/4WD control or engine brake actuating system. The Belt Light flashing means there is a problem in the CVT system. They are not the same.
So, what do you do when 2/4WD is flashing?
1). Replug the Control unit under the seat to see if that will reset the light.
2). Check both actuators (4WD & EBC) for any obvious damage.
3). Count the flashing pattern (complete cycle) to determine the failure mode.
4). Take it to a dealer if you don't want to hassle with the problem.

the 2x4/4x4 light started flashing when i hit 100 hours. the belt light reset fixed it. this happened even tho i have stripped the KEBS from my machine and soldered the belt trip switch wires togather quite a while before 100 hours.
the 2x4/4x4 light flashing is all that happened to my brute at 100 hours. no belt light. nothing else. try the reset procedure.

When you hit 100 hours, the CHECK BELT light comes steady ON, not flashing. It is just a programmed maintenance reminder in the ECU. If the CHCEC BELT light is either steady ON or flashing, you use the belt light clearing procedure to turn it off AFTER checking the CVT and Belt.
Belt clearing procedure will NOT clear the 2/4WD flashing on the meter. You can try, but will only waste time. Too many flashings cause people to confuse.

Which acutuator plug was causing the problem, 4WD or EBC?
That makes a sense. If there is a bad contact at the connector, the Control Unit is not receiving a proper return voltage (signal) from the actuator and it would cause the 2/4WD characters to flash on the meter back and forth. The only way to turn off this 2/4WD blinking is by fixing the problem, either bad connection or bad component (any 1 of 3). There no magic resetting procedure on this problem. Sometimes replugging the control unit will shut off but that's just a temporary.
