I was thinking and trying to decide about the same lines as you. My first thought was the king 450 only because that was the price I wanted to pay. Then I kept telling my self that it wouldn't have the power I was wanting. So while I was at my local dealer he had a 06 650i camo left over. It ended up being $700.00 less money with camo and a whole bunch more power. Since the purchase I am very glad I did what I did. If I were you. Go try and find a 06 and save your self some real doh and have twice the machine.

Good info here. Not trying to divert anyone from this forum but everything you want to know about a brute force can be found here.

Get the 650i. Man o man what a atv. I was really looking at a new atv. I was looking at the rincon and the brute 650i. Well my buddy brought over his 650 i on sunday to ride. WOW, that is the most fun i have had on an atv and i was in a flat field(i guess im exagerating the funnest). The power is great. I would ride wheelies for 50 feet with ease. It fit me perfect also, nice ergonomics. BUT, for now im stuck on my 360 which feels like a lawnmower after the power of the brute. Man, i want one bad.

I know you are interested in IRS, but check out Kawi's original 650 SRA. If you like fast trail riding, you will love this one.

been thinking long and hard about this issue...SRA or Indi....

Indi KingQuad is as stiff as my 360, so I am not sure I want to dough out extra on Indi, esp. since I am not so sure I wont miss the SRA...

Any thoughts form the crew????

IRS advantages
The IRS has a nicer ride than the SRA when rock crawling or jumping logs and things.
IRS has more ground clearance under the rear diff.

IRS disadvantages
Two more CV's to worry about not that Kawi seems to have any trouble with them.
A little sloppy in higher speed turns.
Not as stable on a sidehill.
Will sag when trailering a heavier trailer.
A little more expensive.

SRA advantages
Easier to drift around corners.
Will not sag when trailering.
More stable on a sidehill.
No CV's in the back to worry about.
A little bit cheaper.

SRA disadvantages
Less ground clearance under the rear end.
Not near as plush when in uneven terrain.

As you can see it all depends on how you want to ride the thing and if you want to save a few hundred bucks, so far I love mine and it's the first IRS I have ever owned. Has more than enough power and the 27's are not an issue to turn at all. Stock clutching is fine with these tires but for a few bucks you can tweak it a little. Looking at a CDI but I'll wait until I get used to all the power I have already.
