Seems like every time I go riding I blow a belt mostly when Im going down the road a wot but only for a short distance.Ive got 27" itp 589's and a diamond g module, is there a better belt out there than stock or what should I be checking my dealer must not know what hes doing since I let him change the first couple. Also it seems like my dif lock sometimes doesnt disengage what could that be?This quad had been trouble from day one and I got less than 100 km on it.Seems fine if the wife just putts around the yard but soon as I go out with the boys its a wreck?

I have 1500 miles on my 06 brute, no belt probs. I ride through lots of mud, snow and up steep mtns, I cant stress how important it is to keep it in low range. I ride with other brutes and they burn up belts also, but they dont always ride in low when they should. I only have 26 inch itp mud lites on mine and all the others are running 27s so maybe that could be part of the prob. Its pretty easy to check the belt deflection, I would keep up on the maint. and do the work myself, save you tons of money in the long run. Good luck and wish I could hlp more.

When should I be in low range? I only use low range in sticky situations. I ride with a bunch of sportquads, so i have to ride fast. I think low would keep the r's a little too high. Just wondering, because I dont want to smoke a belt too soon.

I have the VTwin Kawi motor, and you have to drive in low almost ALL THE TIME. I drive in low up to about 40mph, if i cruise at 40 or above for a long period (gravel rd) i will ride in high. But 98% of my rides are in low gear. I have 1200 miles on my stock belt.

I dont know you shouldnt have to ride in low. These automatic quads seem to be junk.Whats wrong with gears or shafts. The factory might as well take high gear off the quad then.Cause I rode in low then put it in high when I hit the road and this is what happens.

I think thats a little extreme. Thats the first time ive heard anyone that said the autos were junk. You just have to learn how to ride them. I love autos, and always will. Replace the belt, and try again. You will adjust and learn to like it.

yea, if ya have a prob with high and low, how can a five speed be good? i don't wanna be harsh, but i'm with V2 on this one... i have ridden double on very difficult trails for close to 1000 miles and my origional belt is still fine.

Im just saying our old quads never got water on the belt or blew belts or whatever.Gearboxes do blow up too but at least they seemed more reliable. These automatics were made so any joe could ride it I dont think they made it to be reliable.
