06 650i rear a-arms flexing?
RPXR400,
Ok, maybe I didnt word it correctly. Bridge builders number 1 reason to paint the steel, is for rust protection, AND, more importantly, to DETECT metal fatigue. Im sure that isnt really why Kawasaki, or any manufacture paint there steel. Im sure its for appearance and rust protection. Now as for aluminum, aluminum will bend only slightly, and break. Let me give you a for instance. Your Dodge Caravan has an aluminum cradle, with steel control arms. You hit a curb, oh lets say 35 mph. The aluminum will just flat out break, while the steel control arm will bend, rendering both pieces junk. Never the less, painted steel will show signs of flex, and fatigue, by the paint cracking off.

both of my 06 650i quads have done that to i touched them up with black paint neither have done it again i think it is from assembly when they tighten the bolts it flexes the metal a little bit and cracks the paint then gets a little rust behind it then the cracked paint comes off it also did it on my a-arm mounts to i think you are ok

That makes perfect sense.
