If he has outgrown his 50cc, I would imagine the biggest issue is the actual size of the quad not the power. My little bro started out on the Kazuma 50 and is now on a Kazuma 90.....for a young boy, buy Chinese quads...They are cheap as crap on ebay...he will only outgrow it. I think we paid $1,200 shipped to our door from Cali.

Have to agree with the previous; spent over a grand trying to keep my daughter in her LT-80...By next season still not enough. Ended up selling it to a buddy..Bought her a APEX 100MX pro 2-stroke, rockin little bike. That was last season; now she wants more (typical women, she's 12 now).. So now that $3500 bike is for sell, after one season.....But she's not quite ready for a shifter, she thinks she is (she can ride). But being a typical dad, saftey first.... Sounds like your boy is a true youngster (less than 11-12) so you have to take your time and build/buy to his abilities. You can build an LT-80 to a point, take it to 108cc, pipe it (FMF), air filter, widening kit +3 front and back, aftermarket front shocks, re-tooth the back end. Now here's the sorry part, that cost me over a season+ $1500. So add the cost of the bike new $2200 plus my additions that equals a nice $3700 and the reality is the stock APEX will run circles around the modified LT-80 with a suspension you can't touch in the mini class............
These are real numbers, but do what's best for your little man.............There are some decent off-shore bikes and there's some cr-p..Be careful......Ride safe

Well, he just turn'd four years old today! He is still a little to short (feet don't touch the foot pegs)to ride a lt 80 or any 90! I was thinking there has to be more to uncork on the 50,or it's a true slug.I mean he can get stuck on a slight hill or a small rock!!

Yep, sounds like my brothers 50cc. I know that Kazuma makes a 90cc that has the same frame as their 50's. That's what I would look into if you need more punch. You can't ask more out of a 50cc powerplant, my weedeater is just about that size, and boy it can't climp many hills!

Have you removed the restrictor in the exhaust at the head? There is also another one at the carb if I remember correctly(it's been a few years since I messed with mine)
